What makes the VelaSmooth™ so different from other devices on the market is the combination of IR and RF energies with mechanical manipulation. The combined heat energy that is delivered to the skin goes that much deeper so fat is mobilized and allows for deposition of new collagen, and therefore, a smoother skin surface is affected. The VelaSmooth, in addition to reducing the circumference and improving the skin surface irregularities, actually helps to re-contour the areas and gives an improved appearance to the cellulite in general. WHAT DOES A VelaSmooth™ TREATMENT FEEL LIKE?

WILL VelaSmooth™ TREATMENT WORK FOR ME?

The best candidates for the VelaSmooth™ treatments are women and men with a 20-30% BMI (Body Mass Index) who are in good health and practice good health habits. Many patients, outside of this range, also report good results. There are no specific guidelines as to who is the best candidate in terms of body type. This treatment works on all shapes and sizes to varying degrees.

You must be willing to be prepared to commit to the full regimen of two treatments a week for 6-8 weeks, as well as maintenance.

WHEN WILL I SEE RESULTS?

There are 16 appointments in a standard initial treatment regimen. Most patients report an improvement in the appearance of their skin and a reduction of cellulite after just 5 to 6 treatments. Some patients may not see improvements until half way through the protocol, or after the eighth treatment. Patients are encouraged to complete a minimum of two 45-60 minute treatments per week over an 8-week period. As your treatments progress, we can discuss expected results, the duration of treatment, and follow up maintenance.

WILL VelaSmooth™ HELP ME LOSE WEIGHT?

Although the VelaSmooth™ is not a weight loss tool, many patients look and feel as though they have lost weight because their bodies are better proportioned than before.

This “reshaping” or body contouring was detailed in clinical data that was recently presented at the American Society for Dermatological Surgery. The study found that patients who completed the VelaSmooth™ protocol had an average reduction of 2cm — 4cm in the circumference of their thighs, 1cm-5.5cm in the abdominal area, and 2cm — 5.7cm in the circumference of their hips. Although this may not occur in all patients, some patients do report this additional benefit of the treatment.

In addition, prior to each treatment, please remove all body oil, shave, or use a body scrub. Also, remove any sunless tanning products prior to treatment.
